Sanity is an interesting concept. Some people assume that sanity is a
narrow definition. In different situations, those looking in as strange or
unusual may view sanity. The majority or those who have significant
control over societal norms often define what is sane and insane.
If there is absolute control over what is considered normal,
some aspects of the artistic world may be viewed as not fitting within
this definition. One key to sanity is to be in control of your thoughts and
emotions to the extent that they meet what others expect of you.
Some people, who engage in dangerous activities, for example skydiving,
may be seen as on the fringe of insanity. Or, those who purposely put
themselves in peril may also be seen as lacking in normal judgment of what a sane person would do. And, others believe that countries that engage in civil wars are lacking in sanity. It all depends on where you are in life, compared to where others are that shapes your own personal definition.
